Online internships

TxDOT’s Internship Program is designed for high school and college students seeking to be introduced to career opportunities and gain practical work experience in transportation-related fields and support occupations. Full and part-time positions are available year-round.

Academic credit for work experience may be awarded based on an institution’s intern policy.

The Conditional Grant Program is available to eligible students pursuing a degree in engineering or a TxDOT-approved operational business discipline. The Conditional Grant Program will consider both Texas public and private four-year institutions. Students accepted into the program receive up to $4,000 per semester or $8,000 per academic year, based on financial need.
