How to prepare for finals

High School Students, today I’m sharing a blog post written by one of my favorite students. She is a very talented young lady who is in the top 5% of her high school class. She is an inspiration to all who know her.

Hey this is my first blog so everyone please bear with me as I start this exciting adventure!

So the end of the semester is coming in a few weeks before everyone gets out for christmas break! The end of semester means finals are just around the corner. I personally know they can be overwhelming and stressful to study for, but I know a few tips to make sure you are prepared and ready for your finals! The first tip I suggest is to be organized, that means gather all your study guides, old quizzes, and test. The reason you would like to have all those is because most likely will some of the information on the study guide come from old quizzes and test that you have already gone over. Second tip would be to plan out a schedule to make sure you review for each class. You want to make sure you do not focus on one class way too much, you want to equally divided up your time so you cover each class you will be taking a final in. Another tip I love to use is color coding information in the study guides. For color coding I will use like a green highlighter for the information I know well, a pink for the information I know but slightly struggle with, and then a blue for the information I absolutely do not know. The reason I like to do this is because why use time reviewing the information I know already and not use that time studying the information I struggle with and just do not know.  Also make sure to ask your teacher or professor questions if you are confused on a topic or question because if they can help you understand what you are confused on then it will be easier to get through the review as well as the test. The last tip that I advise is make sure you avoid pulling all nighters. Make sleep a priority because I know how tempting it is to pull an all-nighter and cram all the information needed last minute, but it’s a bad idea. By pulling an all-nighter you just cause yourself more stress and risk the possibility of not even remember the information by the time your exam. I hope these simple tricks help you prepare better for your test.
