The Common Application is the most well known college application.  The Common Application is the preferred application for over 600 Universities in the United States.

UNIVERSAL APPLICATION

The Universal Application is the new kid on the block but has 46 Colleges and Universities on board already.

THE UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA APPLICATION

If you have your eye on a California school, it is likely you will need this app. It is the only way to apply to UC campuses.

APPLY TEXAS

If you are considering a College in the Lone Star State of Texas, this is the app that is accepted by most Texas public schools.

SCHOLARSHIPS

COLLEGE BOARD

College Board is a wealth of knowledge.  This is the gold mine of college info.  This is also the place to register for the SAT.

COLLEGE NAVIGATOR

This website is hosted by the Department of Education.  All the information is directly form the data that is submitted by colleges.

COLLEGE RAPTOR

COLLEGE RAPTOR IS NEW TO THIS FIELD BUT I LIKE THE USER FRIENDLY SITE THEY HAVE.  THEY ALSO INCLUDE AN ESTIMATED COST OF ATTENDANCE AND MATCHING OPTION.  THIS IS A VERY STUDENT FRIENDLY SITE.

SAT

SAT is administered by College Board. You can use this site to register for upcoming tests as well as view your scores and have scores sent to colleges of your choice.

ACT

This is the official site of the ACT test.  You can register for upcoming tests as well as view your scores.

ADVANCED PLACEMENT TESTS

You can learn everything you need to know about AP tests here.  Some colleges give class credit for passing these tests.

KHAN ACADEMY

In my opinion, the best SAT tests tutoring is offered FREE by Khan Academy as well as tutoring for many other subjects.  I can’t recommend this site enough.

FINANCIAL AID AND SCHOLARSHIPS

FAFSA

Free Application for Student Aid. The FAFSA is used to determine how much money a student will receive from a school based on family income.  They have excellent videos to help you understand how the process works.

FAFSA has an office hour to allow anyone to ask questions.  A valuable resource indeed!

FEDERAL STUDENT AID

This is the “go to” source for all things financial aid.  They give information on pell grants, work study programs and many loan options.

Unigo is another great resource for scholarships as well as college matches.

ROOMSURF

A website that is good at matching students with like interests.  A great way to find a roommate.
